Train the Trainer Part 3

At the beginning of class we were asked to choose three main qualities of a great trainer. Mine were: Focus, Good Listener, and Communicator. Teaching is all about the student. I feel that by being focused and a good listener it will enhance my communication skills to get the message across, for the students to understand, apply, and take action in the direction of achieving their goals.

The part of the lesson plan to me that is the most important are the use of our words. By helping others to be able to change their disempowering thoughts and words to more empowering thoughts and words, they will be able to remain focused on their goals and be able to take action in achieving their goals. Our thoughts are the controlling factor of our lives. Every thought creates a word that creates action. Thought, Word, Action. So in reality by changing our mind we change our lives.
My greatest reward in teaching is hearing the success of the students. Even though I have my lesson plan, I tell the class at the beginning that the classes are designed for them. I let them know at the very beginning that my goal in teaching is help them to achieve their goals. There are times depending on the class that I might deviate from the lesson plan itself, it might be the questions that they might ask or the students themselves that need more information, but I often find that I am some how guided right back to the plan. In teaching I use my intuitiveness to guide me.

Train the Trainer Part 2

I have set a date to present a class on Perspectives, Wed. Dec. 3 at 3:pm EST. At first when asked to design a lesson plan I became very aware of my conscious incompetence. My thoughts were very disempowering in fear that I would not do a good job, judgement was my fear. But then I realized that this was a class on perspective. Who would be the best example, me. As I began to re-frame my thoughts I became more competent. By using words to enhance empowerment I was able to write my lesson plan. I knew what I wanted to say I just need to be focused and organized.
By being aware of the different levels of competencies I will use those levels to be a guide into developing my skills of a great trainer.
Through example I am able to use the competencies to become a better trainer. My goal in teaching is to help others to achieve their goals.
